At the heart of Pullman National Monument, Pullman Park is located at the southeast corner of 111th and Cottage Grove and is directly in front of the Hotel Florence. It is one of first things visitors and residents see as they enter Pullman from the 111th street Metra stop and will be part of every National Park Service tours.

Site Design Group Ltd is providing pro bono landscape design to help the Chicago Park District renovate the park in a way that benefits residents, helps welcome visitors and establishes a clear sense of place.

Community feedback is an essential part of the park improvement process. This small park has great potential but needs new investment. The brickwork at the center of the park is in poor condition and there is the opportunity for improved landscaping. This need for investment is particularly notable when compared to the newly designed landscape that will surround the Visitor Center across the street.

After preliminary conversations with community groups and IDNR and NPS staff, this initial design plan was drafted and we welcome community feedback on how it could be further improved. Please take a moment to review the plan and submit feedback through the short survey below.
